Helen A. Bender Endowed Scholarship

Helen A. Bender established this scholarship fund for the purposes of promoting academic excellence at the college, eliminating financial barriers that might prevent enrollment of an otherwise highly qualified student, and encouraging highly qualified graduates to obtain employment in the local community.

As a woman who respected the workings of the nursing profession, it was important to Helen A. Bender that excellent nursing professionals be available to provide the care that only nurses can provide. Her intent in establishing this endowed scholarship was to ensure that highly qualified individuals would receive a good nursing education without the worry of financial commitments.
