What is Empower?

Empower stands for Effective Mentorship Program Organized to support the Well-being of diverse students, Encourage community, and Reinforce equity and inclusion. Empower includes a new mentorship program, academic resources and support, and social connection through programs and events.

Who is Empower for?

All nursing students are welcome to join empower, we welcome all identities. If you’re looking for community within the nursing major, a professional mentor, academic resources and support, or even events to get to know other nursing students, Empower is for you!

Mentorship Program

Each student in Empower that would like a mentor, will be paired with a professional mentor that is an alum of MCN’s program, and currently a nursing professional. Mentors will check-in with you often, helping with goal setting, wellness/self-care ideas, provide support and/or career advice/networking opportunities, informing you of things they wish they knew or did in nursing school, and provide insight into the nursing profession from the perspective of someone working in the field.
