Dr. Jessie Casida is a master teacher, nationally and internationally acclaimed nurse scientist, and thought leader. Over the past 35 years, he has held multiple clinical, research, educational, and leadership appointments in various healthcare systems and universities nationwide.

Advanced practice role development. Curriculum and teaching. Research methods and designs: Master's and Ph. D.-level courses, including clinical trials/intervention research. Organizational leadership theories and practice at micro, meso, and macrosystem levels.

Research Interests & Areas

Dr. Casida's notable contributions in nursing and healthcare included inventing the first self-management mobile app for an implantable LVAD (left ventricular assist device, a mechanical heart); developing and advancing the science underpinning LVAD caregiving and self-management. Dr. Casida’s research program has inspired and influenced multiple scholars worldwide to examine the effect of LVAD therapy beyond mechanical, physiological, and epidemiological outcomes.
