Faculty Health and Safety Requirements

All Mennonite College of Nursing instructional faculty and staff who have the potential to teach in-person didactic, lab, or clinical sections must provide documentation to meet our minimum health and safety standards to protect patients and to respect and maintain our partnerships with clinical sites. The specific requirements and the frequency in which documentation must be provided are listed below. Note that some clinical facilities may have requirements beyond those listed. All documentation should be attached to a single email and sent to MCNAcademics@IllinoisState.edu at the beginning of each academic year, due annually by August 21st (or the following business day if falls on a weekend).

Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification Every 2 years
Criminal background check Once upon hire
Drug screening Once upon hire
Hepatitis B full series and positive titer showing immunity Once upon hire
Influenza vaccine or signed declination form Annually
Tuberculosis (TB) Testing Once upon hire, annually if employed in high-risk setting
Varicella full series (2 doses; shingles vaccine not accepted) or positive titer showing immunity Once upon hire
Measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) full series (2 doses) or positive titers showing immunity Once upon hire
Tetanus, Diphtheria and Acellular Pertussis (Tdap) titer and/or Vaccination Every 10 years
COVID-19 vaccine status (immunization not required) Once upon hire
