Annual Report 2018–2019
MCN's generous community made big impacts in 2018-19.
Looking back on fiscal year 2018–2019, as a college and as a community, we accomplished a lot. We helped students pay for school, sent students to care for children abroad, funded new research for healthy aging, and invested in tomorrow's nursing leaders. All these impacts and more were made possible by donations from our generous community. We invite you to look back with us and celebrate what is possible when a community comes together.
And for those of you who donated and were part of these impacts, we are truly humbled by your support. This is for you, and we thank you.

Chianitra Johnson, Benjamin Tucker, and Stephanie Adams, Mennonite College of Nursing’s first group of dual enrollment students from Heartland Community College.

They earned their ADN and BSN at the same time.
To date, MCN has launched Dual Enrollment and Pathways partnerships with 15 Illinois community colleges—unlocking the door to opportunity and career advancement for nursing students across the state.

She decided to specialize in primary care and provided care to patients in a second language.
MCN researchers are building a new model of health care that focuses on primary care and treating patients holistically. Through the CAUSE project, Sophia Navarro and her classmates are learning how to collaborate with other health professionals to keep patients out of the hospital.

We started a fund to research and promote healthy aging.
Made possible by alumna Margaret Johnson’s pledge through the Margaret and Earle B. Johnson Jr. Fund for Aging Well.
Nine students traveled to Panama for the first time for an experiential learning trip.
Made possible by a gift from Margaret Randolph’s estate.
We provided 31 seniors with 28 hours of free leadership training.
MCN’s Leadership Academy continues to provide senior nursing students the leadership skills they will need to be successful nurse leaders.
Made possible from financial support, provided by Bill and Nancy Yarger and Jay and Beth Mathews, and with volunteered time from Tom Carroll.
