Jeanette Gorecki Endowed Scholarship
The Jeanette Gorecki Scholarship Fund was established in 2003 by her family as a living memorial to Jeanette and to the personal and professional qualities that she possessed and displayed. Jeanette graduated from Mennonite Hospital School of Nursing in 1980 and also received the Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree in 1989. She received her Master’s degree from the University of Illinois-Chicago in 1995 as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner.
As a labor and delivery nurse, clinical instructor, and nurse practitioner, Jeanette demonstrated a deep commitment to the total care of the patients she treated. She consistently demonstrated competency in the thoroughness of the care she offered and often exceeded professional standards in the course of her work. Her gentle, comforting, quiet, and caring spirit added much to the total care of the patients who were fortunate enough to receive her personal touch in the course of their hospital stay or medical office visit. As a professional mentor, she encouraged students to pursue their dreams regarding their desire to care for others. Those who knew her on the basis of either friendship or professional care felt blessed to have her be a part of their life.
The awarding of this scholarship will strive to perpetuate the remarkable standards that Jeanette consistently demonstrated in the course of her personal and professional life.
