Brittany Morgan Beallis Endowment

We present this endowed nursing scholarship in honor of our beloved Brittany Morgan Beallis.

Brittany would light up any room, had a smile on her face at all times, was everyone’s friend, she loved fiercly, was a true foodie, lived life to the fullest, strived to help others, and was very personable and bubbly. She touched so many lives in her short 19 years in this world and was simply the most vibrant beautiful person you could ever meet.

Brittany was born in Naperville Illinois in 2005. She grew up in Oswego and Plainfield Illinois. She graduated from Plainfield South High School, class of 2023, in the top 5% of her class. She was also a member of the National Honor Society. 

As a child, it was always a mystery as to why Brittany had awful bruising all over her body, for no apparent reason. After years of doctor appointments and her mother researching, Brittany was diagnosed with a very rare genetic condition called Vascular Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (vEDS), a connective tissue disorder. Brittany never let her bruising interfere with her life, almost wore the bruises as badges. She always lived life to the fullest, never letting her condition get in the way or slow her down. Through her medical treatment journey, she always wished to work in the healthcare industry and become a nurse to help others in need. Brittany was inspired to become a nurse by her mother, a Labor and Delivery RN and her sister Breanna, ISU Mennonite Graduate 2021, Pediatric RN. 

Brittany was a direct admit into the Illinois State University, Mennonite School of Nursing BSN program. Freshman year, Brittany lived in Manchester Hall 2023-24. Brittany settled into her Sophmore year full of so many hopes and dreams. She had found the love of her life. Brittany was enjoying life to its fullest until tragedy struck and we lost Brittany November of 2024, due to a sudden aortic rupture. 

She was a beautiful and gorgeous light that was gone too soon. Our hope is that Brittany’s scholarship will help future nurses achieve their goals to become the nurse Brittany longed to be. 

Brittany’s vibrant light and legacy will live through every recipient of her scholarship. Live like Brittany would, achieve your dreams, love everyone with your whole heart, and keep her memory alive…forever.
