NIH Mentor Fellowship
The MCN NIH Mentor Fellowship offers funding to work with a mentor to facilitate submission of an National Institutes of Health grant. The funding will provide for the mentor’s negotiated reimbursement. All tenure-track faculty members are eligible. The funding amount will vary as negotiated with the mentor.
Requirements
- Identify a specific research objective and NIH funding mechanism.
- Identify possible mentor(s).
- Develop the specific aims section for a research grant.
- Develop a 2-5 page proposal that includes specific aims, rationale for need for mentor at this time, timeline for grant submission, and possible mentor(s) curriculum vitae and contact information.
- Submit proposal to the Associate Dean for Research.
Proposal Review
- The Associate Dean for Research will review proposal and contact possible mentor(s) to determine reimbursement needs.
- The Associate Dean for Research will make a funding recommendation to the Dean’s Council.
