Brenda Johnson has practiced as a staff nurse in medicine, oncology, intensive care, home health, and as a gerontological nurse specialist in acute care. She received her PhD in Nursing from the University of Colorado in 1999 and has been an educator for over 25 years. Dr. Johnson has conducted and published research on the impact of memory loss on personhood, as well as authored numerous chapters in nursing textbooks related to assessment and care of the older adult. She is a frequent presenter to professional and community groups on a wide variety of topics relating to advocacy and quality of life issues for an aged population. Dr. Johnson has served as a Community Educator for the St. Louis Alzheimer's Association for over two decades.
