Q: Will I be able to balance school with work and other commitments?
A: All of our programs are offered on a part-time schedule and designed to accommodate the adult learner. Our RN to BSN, Nursing Systems Administration, and Doctor of Nursing Practice are all offered online. The Family Nurse Practitioner program offers courses on Thursdays and Fridays during the day, and four core courses in the plan of study taught online.
Q: Is the GMAT or GRE required for any graduate programs?
A: GRE is only required for PhD program applicants who do not have a 3.4 GPA or higher on either the last 60 hours of undergraduate work or the last 30 hours of graduate work.
Q: Prerequisites?
A: Prerequisites vary by degree program. But, one thing to note is that we DO NOT require chemistry or statistics for entrance into our RN to BSN program.

Q: Is Mennonite College of Nursing at Illinois State accredited?
A: Our nursing program is fully accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, and is also approved by the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation. The college is a member of the American Association of Colleges of Nursing.
Illinois State University is accredited by The Higher Learning Commission (HLC), the regional accreditation agency that accredits degree-granting institutions of higher education that are based in the 19-state North Central region of the United States. Following its accreditation in 2015, the HLC reaffirmed the accreditation of Illinois State University on a continuous basis until the 2024-2025 academic year with no concerns or monitoring, the highest level of accreditation a university can receive.
Q: How does billing work?
A: Illinois State University offers a deferred payment plan allowing the student to register for courses for a given semester, complete the courses, obtain reimbursement from Advocate, and then make a payment to ISU for courses completed.

Q: Are there application deadlines?
A: Yes. Application deadlines vary by program, but the general rule is the earlier you apply the better.
